Below are some more pics of our first camp trip
with the pup on 07-04-2003 weekend

I cannot remember the name of the campground (something winds), but it was in Ocean City, WA & was one of those membership type places where you pay a horrendous yearly fee, plus more fee's and can only camp 1/4 of a year total at any of their affiliate campgrounds.  We did the presentation, camped last minute on 4th of July weekend in a fairly nice campground.
I'd say the 2 hour waste of our time was worth it.

The nicest thing about this place is that it had great privacy & was nicely wooded, along with great natural scenery (see 4th pic below).  Beach access wasn't the best as it was on the other side of the road from the beach but the bathrooms were nice & had showers that were warm.

Pros: Full Hookups, Toilets & Showers, Fully wooded & secluded sites.
Cons: Beings it was a "$Membership$" park, where do I start?

Yes, we like to take pics of the Sprog!

Playing with a found daisy (picked through the gate)

Thanks for the milk mom!

Below is our second camping trip.
Also on the 4th of July weekend, but 2004!
The Sprog is about 2 yrs old here
This trip was at Tidelands Resort in Copalis, WA (close to Ocean City)

Pros: Full hook-ups
Toilets & Showers
and a bridge to the beach
(instead of wading through the 3' deep river).

Cons: The showers ran out of hot water fast
3/4 of the sites were not so private and also have this very stickery weed that grows
all over the ground and gets in your trailer, all over your shoes, and is impossible to get off!

All set up

Expending some pent-up energy

My Nissan helped with privacy,
but at least the neighbors were nice!

Getting our feet wet (so to speak)

Playing in the sand...

...and with a kite..  The wind was great for this!
Our third camping trip on Labor Day Weekend 2004 was at
in WA State near Mt. St. Helens.

Pro's:  Nicely wooded & secluded campsites,
Nearby Mt. Rainier & St. Helens, and other nifty local gift shops etc...
Wonderful Washington State views on the drive to & from anything.

Cons:  No hookups, No Showers, Porta Potties only.

I didn't get any pics of our campsite,
but I found some highlights.

The Cispus River.
As a child, we used to play on the large dangerous rocks.
Something I will think twice about letting my child do now.

The  Cispus River Bridge.
I used to love crossing this bridge as a child.
I believe it's been knocked down more than once,
notably during the Mt. St. Helens Blow.

Mt. St. Helens...
once a reasonably nicely wooded area,
(except for Weyerhauser
forested areas)
now barren wasteland from the blast.

Crunched car from the blast
It was tossed around like a toy.
